A landmark design from Charles and Ray Eames, the molded plastic chairs consist of clean, simple forms sculpted to cradle the body. As their popularity grew, the shells were combined with various base designs to fit a wider range of environments. Herman Miller is proud to reintroduce another option to the line, the wood dowel base. The maple dowel legs bring a softer aesthetic, while the crossed metal rods are distinctly Eames.
The dowel-leg base is available with both side chair and armchair shells in a variety of colors.
These Eames originals are made of 100% recyclable polypropylene, a more ecologically-supported material. In addition, the chairs are manufactured in the USA to reduce their carbon footprint.
