Formway Design

Starting from modest beginnings, Formway began as a small-scale manufacturer of steel-based furniture in Petone, New Zealand, during the 1950s. The company was purchased in 1981, a change in ownership that led to the introduction of new production techniques and design strategy. Formway gained international recognition in 1989 for its first seating range, the ZAF chair, which won the Prince Phillip Award for excellence in product design. Now based in both New Zealand and Australia, Formway has continued to create high performance office seating, furniture, workplace products, and contract design.
