Hella Jongerius
b. 1963
Hella Jongerius was born in De Meern, Netherlands, and attended the Eindhoven Design Academy for industrial design. She gained international recognition with her work for Droog Design during the 1990s. By 2000, Jongerius founded her own design studio JongeriusLab in Rotterdam, designing home furnishings ranging from dishware, textiles, and vases. Her design aesthetic is exemplified by its unique blend of traditional handicraft and elements of technology.
