Jozeph Forakis
Raised in New York City by career artists, Forakis was culturally influenced by aspects of art and theater at an early age. He studied industrial design at both the Rhode Island School of Design and the Domus Academy in Milan. In 1993, Forakis established a Milan-based strategic design business, working with international clients such as Foscarini, LG Electronics, Philips, and Swarovsky in creating home furnishings, personal accessories, and consumer electronics. His work innovatively explores new materials and techniques, while focusing on the interactive elements between design and technology. Forakis’ work has been displayed in galleries and museums around the world, including the “Mutant Materials in Contemporary Design” and “Workspheres” exhibitons at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
