Kazuhide Takahama
b. 1930
Kazuhide Takahama studied architecture at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. After graduating in 1953, Takahama joined the Gavina Group in Milan, Italy. His work is exemplified by the harmonizing of East and Western aesthetic traditions. Takahama’s pieces play on line and form, often simplifying the product to its most elemental shape– the Suzanne Lounge Collection, produced by Knoll, is the quintessential marriage of linear geometry and organic curves.
