Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, two French brothers, are considered the rising stars of European industrial design– established through a wide collection of awards, exhibitions, books, and manufactuers. They were catapulted into the international spotlight after winning the Paris Grand Prix du Design in 1998, as well as the prestigious title of Designers of the Year at the Salon du Meuble in 2002. The Bouroullec’s design aesthetic is surprising in its simplicity, taking inspiration from organic, natural forms such as their 2004 ‘Algue.’ Some of their major clients include Cappellini, Ligne Roset, Habitat, Magis, and Vitra.
