Vico Magistretti

1920-2006

A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano University in 1945, Vico Magistretti worked initially in urban design in Milan. In the 1950s he began designing furniture and lamps — some would go on to become museum pieces. Magistretti worked for several notable companies including Artemide, Cassina, De Padova, Flou, Fritz Hansen and Kartell. His works have been shown in numerous renowned museums in Europe, USA, and Japan. Some have also been included in various permanent exhibitions museums such as MoMA.
